First day in Charleston

My first day as the Style Intern at the Charleston Magazine was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I was trained by the past intern; then left to my own! I began the day with 2 assignments from my boss/style editor. I had to compile 10 men's and women's fall 2011 looks for the fashion to furnishings feature in the Charleston Home magazine. Second assignment consisted of scouting Charleston retailers for the July issue feature on children's swimwear. When I'm not in the office I will be on the streets of Charleston snapping photos of fashion forward individuals to feature in our Street Style section of the magazine or picking up samples that Charleston retailers are allowing us to borrow for the photo shoots. I will also be assisting our Style Editor on all photo shoots and attending events with her occasionally.

On Thursday, I will be attending the ribbon cutting of Studio Charleston. Many movies are produced and filmed in Charleston, but Studio Charleston will now officially be the production warehouse for all movies and I get to GO. Thanks to my cousin/uncle/summer-dad, Martin who I am staying with. He is my mom's cousin and he has graciously invited me into his home for the summer, but he is more like the definition of the typical "cool, complete Southern-gentleman" uncle I would have.

Charleston is impeccably beautiful, and I can't believe that I am here to not only work but spend my summer as well. I am very grateful for everything, and I have already met some wonderful and hospitable people. If you are in Charleston, definitely come and visit with me. More updates to come...:)
